Measuring Justice: Justice Sector Evaluation & Human Rights - a conference by the International Human Rights Network

Venue: National University of Ireland, Maynooth, Ireland, Friday 26th June 2009

Measuring justice is a priority for a wide range of individuals and institutions. It is central to enhancing good governance including rule of law, combating corruption, addressing impunity and building effective, sustainable and accountable justice sector reform. The purpose of this IHRN conference is to facilitate the pooling of evaluation experience, to identify best practice and lessons for the future, with particular reference to measuring human rights impact. Invited participants include:

  • Evaluation practitioners & evaluation units
  • Inter-governmental bodies (such as World Bank, European Commission, UN agencies etc)
  • Justice officials (such as police, prosecutors, judiciary, civil/criminal legal aid providers) and Oversight/accountability bodies
  • Bi-lateral & multi-lateral development officials
  • Foundations, NGOs and civil society
  • Academics & research institutes
